If/when aliens land on this planet they will most likely want to understand human culture. Rock music has to figure in the explanation and, we would suggest, Pink Floyd will be front and centre in that conversation.
If our extra-terrestrial visitors also have the benefit of time travel then a trip back to the Wembley Empire Pool for the 1974 live performance of Dark Side Of The Moon might be just the thing to illustrate the point that this was one of the most significant bands and albums of all time.
It was a time when keyboardist Richard Wright, drummer Nick Mason, guitarist/singer David Gilmour, and bassist/vocalist Roger Waters composed and played as one.
Given the complexities of the composition the concert was never going to be aurally true to the original studio album, but boy does it work as a concert and a live recording.
