Joan Jett has released her first acoustic album, the excellent Changeup.
As the grand dame of punk, Joan has timed her latest return to perfection. With the pop-punk revival featuring Olivia Rodrigo, among others, and Miley Cyrus citing Ms Jett as her greatest inspiration.
Changeup features The Blackhearts and the rock and roll spirit is never far from the surface, but this album transcends the ‘female rocker’ tag.
Rather than cash in by cranking out the high-octane riffs, Joan has taken her music down a notch with an intimate, career-spanning set of her best-known songs, with the curious exception of her biggest hit, I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll.
