On August 18th, 1962 Ringo Starr made his debut with the band that would become the biggest group in the world and set the standard for excellence that would be followed by all who were to come after them.
The venue for this monumental event was the rather modest Horticultural Society Dance, Birkenhead, England.
The group’s set was preceded by a two-hour rehearsal and was the first appearance of The Beatles comprising John, Paul, George and Ringo.
Outside of Liverpool and Hamburg the group were, at that time, largely unknown, but in little over a year they would become megastars.
Beatlemania would define the 60s and The Beatles would create music that will probably live on for as long as there are human beings with ears to appreciate their brilliance.
