It is 40 years since Duran Duran left Birmingham, England to conquer the world on a journey that included No 1 singles and albums, fashion-model girlfriends, fame and huge wealth.
Now a foursome – Andy Taylor left the band twice – their drug-fuelled days are behind them, but the quality of their music has never diminished.
Future Past, their 15th album, boasts contributions from producer Giorgio Moroder, DJ Erol Alkan and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon among others.
As they prepare for a tour in 2022 this new album clearly demonstrates they have lost none of their power or creativity, mixing the commercially guaranteed with material that is dark and experimental.
